Labor Day…

Well, it’s that time of year again, isn’t it?  It’s always filled with such mixed feelings for me: sad to leave the summer behind but excited about new beginnings for our children and ourselves… I have come to feel that the best thing about fall is changing into our fall clothes!  taking the warm comfy sweaters out of the mothballs, looking forward to pulling on those favorite jeans… and of course treating ourselves to a few new goodies!  Over the knee boots, cool military jackets:  there are so many great new styles! 

To make the transition a little easier, we thought we’d do a sale on our fun backpacks: hopefully some of you have taken advantage of  the sale, or are thinking of it:  our backpacks have a padded compartment for 15″ laptops to fit securely and super padded handles for extra support on your backs.  Loads of fun patterns are still left, so enjoy!

What are you BBQ’ing?

I am sure you, like me, love to barbecue in the summer, and August is such a great month for eating fresh, delicious fruits and veggies!  In New York, we are LOVING the locally grown corn and tomatoes!  Here was something we tried yesterday:  some fresh mozzarella cheese, basil and juicy heirloom tomatoes on a huge ciabatta loaf, with a little extra virgin olive oil - put it on the grill for 5-10 minutes (watch it as everyone’s grill is different), and YUM!  Send us your favorite easy-peasy summer recipes: we’d love to hear what you’re cooking!!

A Note About Our Free Gifts! or… Why Are We Giving Away Stuff?

We all love swag, right? Well, the idea to do a Free gift In Every Bag came about because I thought it would be fun for all our JANE MARVEL customers to get a little swag every time they purchased one of our bags. First we start with our clear zip pouch: all the free gifts come in one! The size is 8″x8″, which is exactly quart-sized for all airline regulations. Then, depending on the bag you order, you get a different free gift: we have cosmetic mirrors, sleep masks, eyeglass cases, mousepads and cd/dvd holders! We know we don’t HAVE to do this, but we are happy to give all you girls a little extra something – just because we felt like it. Enjoy!

Summer is over… and we’re back to school

I always find Labor Day to be a bittersweet holiday: I love the 3-day weekend of course, but I don’t like the “unofficial” end of summer.  And I’m always amazed how quickly the weather turns fall-like as soon as the boys go back to school!   So here we are on a rainy Friday, trying to think of ways to hold onto summer.  That’s why we decided to extend our Summer Sale thru September 15: we hope you can find lots of styles that will cheer up your closet.  Have a great weekend.
